Jessica Simpson recently sat down for an interview with Pop Tarts and opened up on details about her life that many of her fans were not aware of. She talked about the first time she heard the song “Remember That” and despite not having written the track, she still identified with the experience of abuse:
“It was one of those moments that just moved me to tears — it’s empowering. It’s about that woman really standing up for herself in an abusive situation whether it is mental, physical, emotional. Everybody has dealt with abuse in some sort of way.
“I thought it was important to tell women to take their heart and run as fast as they can if they’re in that situation, because you’re better than that.”
She admits to being affected when she reads or hears that she is being trashed in the tabloids:
“I am a very open person, but how the media is these days makes it hard. Unfortunately people want to believe bad stuff and I just don’t understand that — sometimes it is like a personal attack,” Jessica said sadly. “It’s a challenge for me to act like it’s just part of my career. If they knew your heart, they wouldn’t be talking about you like this.”
Her mood changed when the topic of becoming an auntie, and someday, a mommy came up:
“I would love to be making records and making babies and hopefully I’m married in 10 years,” Simpson added. “I have the dreams of every normal person. I want to be a great aunt.”
Her debut country music album “Do You Know” drops this weekend.
Jessica recently talked about the timing of the release of her latest album:
“I hadn’t been singing for a long time, and I finally got to that place where I was comfortable opening up again,” Jessica said. “I’d been going through a divorce, and I wasn’t really strong enough to (sing); I had to go through the hurt and healing. I had to sit back and relax and go through everything like a normal person would.”
I seem to remember that she was the one that filed for divorce, not him and if going through the hurt and healing is done by going on a dating frenzy then I guess all those rebound guys gave her the inspiration she needed!
Jessica wanted to set the record straight about the public’s misconception about what drives her although the few episodes of the show I watched showed me that she was more focused on her career than she was her marriage. She had this to say:
“that I’m just in it for the money and the paparazzi – they really think that what they see in the tabloids is how I live my life,” she said. When we did Newlyweds, I felt that people really got to see me for who I am – the fun side of me, the hardworking, normal girl who burps and falls flat on her face.”
Her boyfriend Tony Romo has purchased a home in a Dallas county gated community suburb that also has a golf course. It’s over 5000 square feet with 5 bedrooms, 4 full and two half baths, a games room, pool and spa. She’s supposedly going to help him redecorate it.
Here she is in daisy duke shorts and cowboy boots singing her lil ole heart out for all her fans at the Indiana State Fair. She has changed directions musically and has gone country, and this outfit proves it. Still though, she has a bit of the diva in her with the rock star belt. The girl has great legs
At a recent country music festival, she dedicated her new song “You’re My Sunday” to her current boyfriend quarterback Tony Romo as he is very supportive of the new direction she is taking with her music.
She says he is different from all of her exes:
“Most of the guys I dated were captivated by my heart but they had different ways of trying to get to me. Tony understands me. He appreciates my talent. He’s the first person I’ve spiritually connected with. I’m a girl that loves to be in love,” she gushes. “I love love!”
Now that is interesting. Tony is the first she’s connected with spiritually? Her ex-hubby Nick wasn’t? I really had thought they were soul mates. Apparently not.
“It’s the cutest thing,” she went on to tell the magazine about Tony and his supportiveness:
“He’ll say, ‘Jessica, 75 percent of the comments about your new single ['Come On Over'] are favorable.’”
How sweet, he doesn’t mention the other 25 percent negativity.
Katy Perry talks about the difficult time she’s had trying to make it.
Her latest album “One of the Boys” dropped earlier this month and her single “I Kissed a Girl” is doing so well, she recalls on how difficult the road to success has been.
She says:
“I’ve been on three major labels, signed and dropped, signed and dropped. There were times I lost hope in ever believing anything that any record label person ever told me.
The last time her album didn’t get released, she almost gave up, succumbing to singing back-up vocals for Miley Cyrus and borrowing money from her parents just to make ends meet.
She tells EW.com,
It turned into a situation, where, for years, I was telling my friends that I was going to have a record out… and then it wouldn’t happen. They stopped believing in me. I was pretty much a joke.
Maybe a week before my record was coming out, I kind of went into that state of shock, like, ‘Oh, my God, they totally called my bluff! It’s coming!’”
Barenaked Ladies lead singer Steven Page was arrested for drugs on Friday. He was at an apartment in Fayetteville, New York with two women, at around 2 in the morning. Police approached the home after noticing a suspicious car parked outside with one of the doors open. They observed people at the window “engaged in something.” A white substance found on the kitchen table tested positive for cocaine. One of the women was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.
Page posted $10,000 bail and is due back in court Thursday. The band’s management people told MuchMoreMusic’s The Loop that they are confident Steven will be “completely exonerated” from the charges.
This is not good for their goody two shoes image! The timing of this fiasco will no doubt negatively affect sales of their recently released children’s album called Snack Time.
Stephen Page is separated from his wife of 14 years since last year and has three sons.
The NKOTB reunion just got even more exciting. People is reporting that they will record a song with New Edition. *squeals with delight* I’m joking but I imagine there will be many of their cougar fans purring in anticipation. The really aren’t “Kids” anymore, even though most of them do look half-a**ed decent for their ages!
The song name is: “Full Service.” One of the song’s producers said:
“Donnie Wahlberg had this idea for a few months, since New Kids had the idea of getting back together really. Donnie’s been looking for that one track for all of them and I think we found it.”
The collaborative effort will be featured on NKOTB’s new album.
Paris is going to try another attempt at singing, this time with the love of her life Benji Madden. He has recorded a song about her and is now helping her record a theme song for her new show My BFF.
She told E! News:
“Benji and I have been working hard on it. He’s helping me write the lyrics for the song and then I’ll sing it, too.”
The studio just happens to be located inside her Beverly Hills mansion. How convenient!
She’s also planning on releasing a sophomore album… although… didn’t her 2006 debut CD Paris bomb?
She had this to say:
“I’ll have another album come out, for sure. I just don’t know when yet. I only have the summer off, then I’ll be taping another season of BFF. But an album is something I’ll do.”
Billboard reported today that Tha Carter III is the first album since 50 Cent’s 2005 LP The Massacre to sell more than 1 million copies in a single week!
He had this to say about his fantastic success to MTV News in his ever so humble way:
“Thank you, that’s it. [I'm] just very grateful, that’s it. Blown away, of course. Surprised, of course. Elated. Every positive word there is.”
He went on to add:
“I wasn’t trippin’ about this,” he said when talking about his numbers. “I didn’t have no expectations. That’s not only with music, [that's] period. You shouldn’t expect anything. You never know what could happen.”
Wayne starts his Carter III tour on June 27. He also told MTV News that he and T-Pain will be forming a super group!
He gave a shout out for his fans:
“What’s poppin’, MTV. It’s Weezy F. Baby, and I just wanna thank everybody out there for making Tha Carter III the #1 album in the country. Thank you.”
You think she would just wear a bra to push her boobs up rather than tape it where we can see it! I can’t even quite figure out why she would do this. Beyonce has quite a nice body and I am sure even if she decided not to wear a bra they wouldn’t be sagging to her belly button or anything. Oh and if Beyonce decided she was going to endorse a cool phone she should have picked something a little more stylish. I don’t even know why she is bothering to endorse a phone for her ‘B’day’ line isn’t her birthday over now, it seems like her B’Day promotions are never ending. Didn’t the album come out last year?!
“The album isn’t happening anymore, due to issues in his personal life, even though it had been in the works for over a year. He originally put it on the back burner when Tameka got pregnant, but now it looks like it’s not going to happen at all. Usher only listens to Tameka now, and she wants all his focus to be on her and the baby.”
This really doesn’t come as a suprise, especially since is song Same Girl bombed on the charts.
