Singer Katy Perry and burlesque star Dita Von Teese have reportedly been inspiring a surge in sales of suspenders and stockings.

The sexy stars are said to have inspired women to buy the provocative lingerie and demand has recently risen by a third.

Images of burlesque star Dita, 37, as well as singers Katy Perry, 24, Lily Allen, 24, and Rihanna, 21, are said to have caused the rise in sales.

Denise Fraser from online retailer Figleaves said: “Women desire a more feminine, sexy look.”

Dita’s raunchy performances see her strutting her stuff in a variety of sexy underwear that sees her stripping off in a martini glass.
