Rob Lowe, nanny declare end to legal hostilities

Rob Lowe’s bitter legal battle with one of his nannies is over.

Court records show both the actor and Jessica Gibson, who was employed to look after his two children, have asked that their lawsuits be dismissed.

It is not clear if a financial settlement was reached. Lawyers for both were unavailable for comment on Wednesday night.

Lowe, 45, pre-emptively sued Gibson in Santa Barbara County Superior Court in April 2008, alleging she was trying to blackmail him and his family unless he paid her $1.5 million.

Within days, Gibson filed a sexual harassment suit against Lowe and his wife, Sheryl, claiming he groped her and exposed himself to her during the seven years she worked for them.

The West Wing actor has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.

Gibson’s lawyer had alleged the nanny’s legal rights were being suppressed by Lowe’s lawsuit.

Meanwhile, a separate legal fight continues with a second nanny, Laura Boyce. She alleges sexual harassment while he is suing for breach of contract.
