Disney starlet Selena Gomez took the cover of the April 2009 cover of Latina magazine. In the accompanying interview, she talks about being a celebrity, her supposed feud with Miley Cyrus and admiring Britney Spears, among other things. On Britney, Selena said “In a way, Britney can be someone to look up to. She was constantly being looked at and picked on, and it’s starting to happen to me. At the moment, I don’t have anything good they can pick on me with, but they’ll find something. Maybe I can be as strong.” On being a celebrity, including the perks and pitfalls that come with it, she said “I always wanted this to be my life but I don’t want it to live my life for me.”

Michael Jackson Sold Out

I keep saying that he’s the dethroned King of Pop but I now take it back. Michael Jackson has still got it as tickets for all 50 of his shows at London’s O2 Arena have completely sold out! Michael Jackson fans who didn’t trust the reliability of online purchasing spent the night camped out in front of the O2 to assure dibs on the tickets. Tickets for the show went on sale on Friday morning. One million tickets for Jacko’s comeback performance were snatched up in a matter of hours! Tickets to see the shows are going for as much as $14,000 on eBay but I can only think that the prices will go even higher as the show dates come closer.

E! News is reporting that Britney Spears has been secretly dating her long time talent agent, Jason Trawick. According to the report, it’s also surprising that Brit’s protective dad Jamie Spears doesn’t have a problem with Jason. A family insider says that “Jason is one of the few people who Jamie Spears trusts.” Jason is a 37-year old rep from the William Morris Agency and has been Brit’s agent for about 5 years. He also recently joined Brit for the first four shows of her ‘Circus’ tour. Jason, just like Brit’s rep, declined to comment about the report on their possible romantic relationship.

New Jobs for American Idol Rejects

It has only been a few months since American Idol reject Kimberly Caldwell broke up with American Idol champ David Cook. However, it seems that Kimberly has found another Idol partner to look after her – Carly Smithson. The show’s cast offs rolled up to Apple in West Hollywood last week. Before they went inside, cameras caught Carly cleaning the fluff off of Kimberly’s butt. Is Kimberly so stuck up her own butt that she can’t clean her own back side free of dirt? It must suck to be Carly. But oh well, unlike most other Idol rejects, at least she has a job.

50 Cent Unleashes Porn Tape on Rival

50-cent
The whole East Coast VS West Coast war surrounding 2Pac and Biggie may be buried now but the beef between 50 Cent and Rick Ross is reaching a whole new level. In an interesting twist, their war now involves a homemade porn tape. A source says that 50 plans to release a porn tape featuring one of Rick’s baby mamas. It is said that 50 bought the tape and is planning to post it on his own website and even provide voice over on it. The feud between the two rappers has included animated videos, radio station disses and a video where 50 took another of Rick’s baby mamas shopping for clothes. Naturally, the porn route came to be.

The empire of the Jonas Brothers is growing as the days pass. The band of brothers are now going into fashion design as they have a line just for the tweens! Don’t expect a whole collection of their merchandise though as the line, simply called Jonas, strays away from the traditional fan fare and primarily focuses on sportswear. The collection is modelled after the clothing they wore on the Disney Channel’s upcoming Jonas Brothers TV show with an array of “argyle sweater vests with the Horace Mantis Academy logo on the front; woven tops; T-shirts; polo shirts with ruffle accents on the neck and sleeves; plaid belted shorts; leggings; denim skirts and jeans.” The brothers are also keeping the line affordable as the collection will range from $9.99 to $24.99 and will be available at retail giants Wal-Mart, Kmart, Sears and JC Penney this fall.

Hilary Duff and Carrie Underwood cheer on their men at the game between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Ottawa Senators this past Wednesday at the Scotiabank Place in Ottawa, Canada. Hilary was there to support her Senators boyfriend Mike Comrie and Carrie was there for her own Senators boyfriend Mike Fisher. The two blondes may have been good luck charms for their guys as their team won over the Lightning, 3-2 in overtime. Carrie was even seen jumping up and down after her Mike scored a goal. These ladies sure love their hockey and they sure love their respective Mikes.

Tina Davis, the woman that was identified as the person who sent Chris Brown the text message that ignited the now infamous fight between Chris and Rihanna, is firing back at the suggestions that the text was of an “intimate nature”. Tina issued the following statement through her lawyer: “The relationship between Ms. Davis and Mr. Brown is that of manager and client. There has never been any other relationship. The rumors in circulation are false. There are no emails between Ms. Davis and Mr. Brown of the type which have been described in media reports. Britney’s Circus on Drugs

There’s a rumor floating around that a couple of dancers on Britney Spears’ new tour had been fired last weekend over failed drug tests. Don’t believe it because it’s not true. A Spears insider told the press this past Wednesday that “None of the dancers have been fired nor have there been any failed drug tests.” Those dancers know that they have to stay on the straight and narrow or they will be out of a job. Mind you, the Britney gig is one of the biggest gigs this year. I doubt any of them will be stupid enough to let that go just because they were having withdrawals.

Back to Work for Jennifer Lopez

A solo Jennifer Lopez was pictured all smiles as she left a West Village recording studio in New York City this past Wednesday. The 39-year old triple threat is back to work when it comes to her singing career as she is recording a so-called comeback album with long time manager Benny Medina. I wonder what sound JLo’s next album will have. I also wonder if she will have a song on her album that would be a duet with her and hubby Marc Anthony. Maybe there will be a lullaby on there for her twins too. Good luck to her in her efforts of a comeback.

Chris Brown Having Way Too Much Fun

Here is another picture of Chris Brown taken today while he was jet-skiing. He and Rihanna are supposedly back together and are house guests staying at one of Diddy’s houses in Miami, Florida.

PEOPLE is reporting:

“They are definitely together and care a great deal about each other.” said the source.

I don’t know, something about this latest picture rubs me the wrong way. There have been numerous sitings of him having fun out in the sun, but none of her having fun WITH him. Where is she at? Hiding out in the shade watching him?

Oh and where is host with the most, Diddy? No one has seen him either!

Looking at Chris smiling away, it’s as if he doesn’t have a care in the world. He sure as he** doesn’t look very remorseful does he?

Lily Allen Vents About The NY Times

Filed under: Celebrity Kids, Hairstyles, Lily Allen, Message From, Money, bad hair — Beyotch March 12, 2009 @ 9:27 pm

Lily Allen made the following post on her blog bi****ing about the New York Times. It’s kind of a long read but she really felt it was worth the keystrokes to get her point across. It seems to me that she’s not embarrassed to be seen drunk in public but she’s upset about people seeing pictures of her house, via OK magazine that she didn’t get paid for?

Says Lily:

“The New York Time are cheap skanks
Heya,

So, something has been really bugging me and I have to get it off my chest. A few months ago Ambrosia my press agent and friend called me very excited saying the New York Times asked if they could do a piece about me for the cover of their Arts section. It goes without saying The New York Times is an incredibly prestigious publication , so of course we were all very excited at the prospect. The plan was that a NYT reporter would fly in from New York, hang out at my house for a little while do the bulk of the interview there, to make it feel more relaxed and then we’d go out for dinner after. The reporter could not have been more lovely, she was called Milena and she did indeed come over to the house, I showed her round, she helped me pick out my outfit ( an ISSA patterned all in one, louboutins, hoop earrings just in case you were wondering) . Then she got out her Dictaphone, we did an interview for an hour, hour and a half and then went out for dinner. We went to this restaurant called the Wolsley and ordered a bottle of wine Iwasn’t really drinking at the time , but I was having so much fun with Milena and I felt so relaxed and chilled I decided to let my barriers down a little. Anyway, we ate diner, I had Wiener Schnitzel she had Duck and we shared a pickled cucumber salad thing , some friends dropped by for a drink at the end of the meal , it was a lovely evening. I actually left Milena with my friend Louis in the end, as I had to go and meet someone else for another previously arranged dinner, I knew she was in London alone and she and Louis seemed to get along so I felt happy leaving her in his care. I gave Milena my email address and contact details and said if she thought of anything else she needed for her article all she need do is ask, and I bid them both farewell . Thinking back , I did feel a little awkward about her paying for dinner, but she insisted.
Earlier on in the day a photographer whose name escapes me came round to the house to take a picture to accompany the NYT piece, they wanted one picture of me in my home setting. Seeing as the piece was so intimate and the biggest part of the interview had been conducted at my house. It is unusual for me to allow photographers into my home but these seemed like special circumstances and after all TNYT is one of the most respected news publications in the world.
The article came out little over a month ago and it was great, a really nice piece with a picture of me sat on my sofa, on the cover of the arts section.
The next time I saw Milena was in New York a couple of weeks ago, I played a gig at the Bowery Ballroom and had an after party at the Spotted Pig, we had a drink and I thanked her for the article as it was very complimentary ,it’s not often people write nice things about me.
Now I want to be clear, this has nothing to do with Milena she is a reporter and that is all. The reason what I’m about to tell you is so hurtful is because I had a really nice time with her and I feel that I will only ever feel badly about that day in London from now on .
When you read magazines such as NOW, People ,US weekly, Heat, More etc they print pictures that they buy from other magazines for instance, I’ll do a shoot and an interview with SPIN magazine or Observer Music Monthly and they might syndicate those pictures or sell them to other magazines. These magazines will then print those pictures alongside a whole bunch of quotes lifeted from previous interviews. This can be incredibly misleading and tedious as I would never sit down and do an interview with most of the tabloidy magazines. I’ve been trying t clamp down on this more recently, and now, when I do a photo shoot , I get the magazine to sign a contract saying they wont syndicate the photographs without my consent. I don’t do this because im a snob, it’s more because the more credible magazines are unlikely to take me seriously and work with me if it looks like I’ve been doing interviews with whoever will listen.
Now, last week, when I was in LA I got this email from Murray Chalmers , who does my press in the UK
“this is exactly why i want everyone to use photo contracts! i dont know who these at home pics were done for but they have been sold to OK which is a pain in the arse as it looks like we have done OK…”
there was then a link to OK’s website with the tagline “ World Exclusive, At home with Lily Allen”. Needless to say I was mortified, in fact I was in tears, 6 photos of inside my home for everyone to see, and a made up interview that was very misleading. All this because I’d let the NYT photographer into my home. I was furious and got on the phone immediately.
I assumed we had one of these contracts in place, but the American PR agency assured me the NYT have an unwritten agreement with the PR’s and nothing like this has ever happened before, they were as upset and angry as I am.
In the end I got an apology from OK,but the NYT refuse to accept what they have done is morally wrong. Everybody assures me this is completely unheard of for the NYT to act in such a cheap and disgusting way.
I found this on an email trail, its an explanation from the NYT

I am sorry to say that we have no record or recollection of your client
or her representatives ever requesting any restriction on our
exploitation of the photographs. Indeed, it is not our general policy
to accede to such restrictions, so it is certainly not something we
would have agreed to without a written agreement confirming such
arrangement.

As the copyright owner of thousands of photographs, a significant part
of our business, like most news organizations, is the syndication of
photos to third parties. This is very standard in the news business and
I’m sorry that it comes as a surprise to your client. Under the
circumstances, we are unable to provide you with the assurances you have
requested.

I do hope, however, that our correspondence sheds some light on this
issue for your client’s future arrangements.

Uuuuurrggh , so patronizing, and gross. The world has become a dark place when The New York Times considers OK magazine to be “the news business”. Sorry if that made for tedious reading but, I think the NYT have behaved really badly and I wanted to vent . It’s one thing posing for a picture fro TNYT and wholly another letting OK into your house, and I didn’t even get paid ☹

Girlfriend should be thrilled she’s being talked about and that she has her name in print! Publicity is what helps her stay relevant in the entertainment business. What’s that famous quote from someone I can’t remember just now…. Oh yes… “I don’t care what they say about me as long as they spell my name right!”

Dita Von Teese Did Not Sign A Record Contract

The rumours buzzing from an article that E! did on Dita Von Teese, allegedly signing a record deal are not true. Apparently she received an offer and did record a few songs for her show at the Crazy Horse in Paris, but she told Perez that she has no desire to become a singer. She says:

“I have no desire to be a pop star. It’s just silly!”

Back in the day many of the vaudeville burlesque dancers were also singers; it was a part of their act. Shame this was just a rumor.

Flo Rida Drops Collab With Chris Brown

Filed under: Album, Chris Brown, New Songs, News, Style — Beyotch March 3, 2009 @ 8:53 pm

Rapper FLO RIDA has been forced to scrap his much anticipated collab with Chris Brown from his forthcoming album because of Chris’ alleged altercation with girlfriend Rihanna.
The Low hitmaker was stoked for the track named “Sweat”, and had planned to release it as a single.
He says he has now had to ditch the song from his latest album R.O.O.T.S  because of the scandal surrounding Brown who has been charged with making criminal threats following an alleged attack on Rihanna earlier this month.

He says:

“I recorded a great song with Chris, but I won’t be releasing it now because of what’s going on with him and Rihanna. It could have been my next No1.”
