Katy Perry Claims She’d “Rather Die” Than Be Celibate… She Was Only Joking

Katy Perry wants to set the record straight regarding reports that quoted her as saying she was going celibate for a year after breaking it off with Travis McCoy. She said she’d only have kisses for her cat, Kitty Purry.

Well it seems as if she was only teasing when she made the comment in jest and that the joke was taken out of context:

“That was a joke!” Katy says. “And any fine journalist would have gotten that joke and inserted that in the context. I’m not going to be celibate, I guess I’m just going to be looking for the right one. But please! Celibacy for a whole year?! I’d rather die!” Katy laughs. “That’s just how the media works,” she continues, “I’m a continual prankster and a jokester, and people forget that you have to interpret that if I’m telling a joke.”
